Being Engaged

I DO!

On December 28, 2013, Saturday

I will give my vows to the one I love
and for the one God has given to me.

After 6 years of being together, 2 break-ups and a proposal we have decided to tie the knot.
In between there we're lots of happy dates and few fights some even major. (Honestly, the fights seems so little now. And of no value)

Time is different now. We handle decisions better and we compromise. We learned to talk openly.
We see growing old together. Raising kids and dreaming much more hoping of being able to raise them in God's ways. We see investing together, buying a home and building a comfortable home to our family. We see each other as a bridge towards two different families. And we see being each other's support in our careers and a partner to each others life.

We are listening to the truth about marriage. Marriage is us building a covenant with the Lord.
Marriage is a blessing. Its an opportunity to better serve the Lord. And it is a symbolism
of Christ within us, his holy church for all the love in the world.

I never thought it will feel this great.

But is the best. ^ ^,

Financial Prayer
Is it bad to ask God about Money?

I've always thought it was. But as I grew older and mature on how much greed there is in the world, I realize that all the reasons we need to pray about money. All the more we need to ask the Lord to secure his mighty name upon us and guard us from financial temptations.

What does it feel like when we go to a store, see that shining shimmering item we sooo truly want to have?! BUT WE CANNOT AFFORD. As I've listen to a talk of Nancy Leigh Demos from one of her talks in REVIVE OUR HEARTS is that one of the lies we women/ladies believe is its okay to get something we cannot afford. When we go to that store and force to get that item, we enjoy a certain time of fallacy. THERE IS ENJOYMENT IN SINNING. But after that really, is debt, problem, sacrifice of not having enough to buy whats more necessary like the basics. And even worst, it brings problems to marriages. We fought with our partner over that expense or your kids will be deprive of something that you should have gotten for them but instead you have something that is unnecessary and undefined. Looking at it at the time of regret, there is no shimmer after all.

Today, we had a wealth fair at work. I went really early because I was thinking of 1,500 employees at work, imagining how many will be coming means me not having a good seat. The talk was courtesy of Insular Life, our new insurance provider and the event was arranged by Ms. Alea, Our HR Compensation and Benefits Specialist.(I got an early bird thank you token) ^ ^,

And when I got back to my chair I just felt this presence to pray for me and Paul. About our incoming marriage. May we be wise enough to prepare for what is coming when we are older. And now may we be able to grab that money and command over it. May we be able to shut down our ears when money screams "SPEND ME!!!"

So I texted Paul. And just imagining what great things God has in store for us.

Here is my message:

Today, I pray and ask the Lord to Bless us.
That when we seal our covenant with him and spend the rest of our lives as Husband and Wife, may we be bless in his mighty ways: Children, Financially, Spiritually and a life under his Grace.
May we be able to take care of all the blessings we receive; Be good examples to our kids, To save and use our money wisely and have a fulfilled and content life together.
May we praise him in times of happiness, defeat and in every bit of hardship and victory.
AMEN...

After this, I went to read the prayer of the day from UNVEILED WIFE and it was also about handling our money.

This is how the prayer goes.

Dear Lord,
Please help marriages in this hard financial time. Please minister your grace and peace and comfort to every heart that is fearful and having a hard time financially. May there to be unity instead of isolation and encouragement instead of disrespect and disregard. Lord help us to love like you do. Help our faith to soar and to reach the highest mountains. Help us to trust in your economy and not the world’s. May husbands and wives rally together to get out of debt and stay debt-free. Holy Spirit help us to be appreciative of your provision and to trust that you will give us exactly what we need in your timing. I pray for better money management skills and to be a good steward of all that you give in your precious name Amen!

Its amazing how God sends and talks to us. ^ ^,

I remember the Parable of Talents. I've always kept that in mind. All my life, I've tried to share
my dance, my skills, improve on what I can and teach/ share something with others. Because of that Story. I don't want to go to the Lord empty handed. I dream about making him smile because I have not wasted anything he has given me. I'm not perfect. I have countless failures, faults and
attitudes I still try to move away from.

But with you reading this blog today, I also pray that you and I in terms of monetary abilities. May we be able to accept what God knows is enough for us, meaning not wanting too much money in excess of what he believes is enough for us,To use and maximize that, save enough, share more of that and have the wisdom to use whats necessary.

May you and I be wise enough.

Thank you for reading. ^ ^< God Bless you and your family!

"You Know Your A Military Girlfriend"
My Friend, Abigail Herrera, shared this to me last year.

Somehow it showed back up to my inbox while I'm going through my mail.

"You Know Your A Military
Girlfriend"

When You don't mind a phone call
waking you up at 4 a.m.

You tell people that ask that
he's 'only' been gone a month.

The smallest contact (text msg) from your man makes
your entire week!

You cry over an email that
says nothing more than hi and I miss you.

Those recruitment
commercials on TV make you cry because you are so proud!

You get super excited just
knowing that your Soldier
tried to call but wasn't able to get through.

Your first Military Ball you go to as your Soldier's girlfriend, your name tag says "Mrs".
Is that a self fulfilling
prophecy or what?!?

A 30 second phone call after
no calls from him for 3.5
months leaves you full of joy and happiness, and "No news is good news" becomes your motto.

The motto "no shore too
distant " becomes your life.

You feel yourself growning
more and more in love with
your man even while he's so
far away.

Planning letters and care
packages and putting them in the mail is more exciting than going out for a night on the town with the girls.

You hold off on seeing certain movies so you can see them with your Soldier when he comes home.

You want to roll your eyes
when you hear someone say,
"I havent seen my boyfriend
in a week!"

You can go from being happy, to sad, to lonely, to angry, to proud, and back to happy in a matter of less than an hour, and you sleep with the phone right next to you, just in case.

If he's deployed you don't
care how your hair looks nor
care about wearing make-up, and the people at your work ask about your boyfriend every day to see if you've heard from him.

The sight of any other man in a uniform makes you miss
your boyfriend MORE..
